Roof Room
Could you be eligible for funding for roof room funding?
Room in Roof Insulation, also known as Attic or Roof Space Insulation, refers to insulating a room located within the roof area that typically has a fixed staircase and one or more windows. These spaces often lack proper insulation in their walls, leading to significant heat loss in your home.
Roof Room insulation involves installing insulation in the walls, between the rafters, and in sloped areas of your attic or loft conversion. Whether your roof space is a fully converted attic or a loft used for living or storage, proper insulation helps retain heat within your home. By insulating the roof and walls, you can create a warmer living environment, reduce heating expenses, and lower your carbon footprint.
Roof Room Insulation Cumbria
Room in Roof insulation involves fitting insulation boards between the rafters on both the vertical wall sections and the sloping areas of the roof. Once installed, the walls and roof are finished with plasterboard and a plaster skim, creating a smooth surface ready for decoration.
These insulation boards are typically made from rigid foam materials such as polystyrene or polyurethane. Homeowners may also qualify for financial assistance through the Government’s ECO Scheme, which offers grants to help cover the cost of room in roof insulation.
- Benefits of Roof Room Insulation
- Substantial Energy Savings - Installing room in roof insulation can reduce heat loss through the roof, helping you save up to 25% on your energy bills. With rising energy costs, this insulation can significantly lower your annual household expenses, making it a smart and cost-effective solution.
- Improved Comfort - Insulating your loft or attic ensures a consistent temperature year-round, keeping the space warmer in winter and cooler in summer. This makes the area much more comfortable to use, eliminating cold drafts in the winter and overheating during the summer months.
- Reduced Carbon Emissions - Room in Roof insulation decreases the energy required to heat your home, helping to lower your carbon footprint. This eco-friendly solution supports a greener, more sustainable future.
- Increase Your Living Space - Properly insulating your attic or loft transforms it into a comfortable and versatile area, whether used as an additional bedroom, home office, or storage. It also enhances your home’s value and appeal by maximizing its functional square footage..

2. Your Benefits or Allowances
You, or someone living with you permanently, must receive at least one of the following benefits or qualify under ECO Flex rules:
